Artist #2: Amanda Shackleton

May 10, 2011

Amanda is a member of the Glossop Fibre Arts Co-operative. She says…

“I am a hobbyist who discovered polymer clay a couple years ago.  I love working with this exciting versitile medium and am continually learning about its possibiliites.  I mainly make one off peices as presents for friends and family and love the excitement when a new peice reveals itself.

A very successful Moot workshop in January meant I was able to help others see the creative potential of this clay.  During Open Arts I’ll be inviting people to have a ‘play with clay’ to get a sense of some basic techniques as well as being able to see a collection of finished peices.”

This is one of Amandas draught excluder snakes fashioned from recycled materials.

Amanda will be at The Smithy Studios 12 – 2pm throughout the Derbyshire Open arts weekend.

The Smithy Studios are at 1 Smithy Fold, Glossop, SK13 8DD
